MeshWorks CAE Conclave 2018, the tri-city event attracts 400+ attendees, launches the next generation of MeshWorks, Version 8.0

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP), releases the major version of its proprietary software platform MeshWorks in India with major launch events in the cities of Chennai, Bangalore & Pune under the banner ‘MeshWorks CAE Conclave 2018’. The event that took place in the 2nd and 3rd weeks of April brought together 400+ CAD and CAE users and decision makers to discuss trends and news on simulation and development topics. The event focused on the theme of Transformed CAE for Accelerated Product Development & Optimization.

After the welcome address and the technology roadmap session by Radha Krishnan, President, DEP, the day was launched by the Key Note Speakers from well-known OEMs of Indiaincluding Dr.Sathya Prasad, Vice President, Vehicle Systems & CAE – Ashok Leyland, Dr.AkellaSarma, Senior General Manager, CAE & CFD – Mahindra & Mahindra and Mr. Mohamed Sithik, Dy. General Manager, Advance Vehicle Development – FCA India, in Chennai Zone, Mr.Elliot Deavasagayam, Heads – CAD & CAE Operations, General Motors,Mr.H.P. Sudhindra, BEL, and Mr.Rajendra, Axiscades Aero in Bangalore Zone, and Mr.Anil Kumar, Technical Chief, Tata Motors, Mr. Girish Kasat, FCA India Engineering and Mr.VinayKharche, DITC in Pune Zone. Their presentations were of great value as they shared their vision and roadmaps for CAE leading development processes. Their words detailing how MeshWorks makes a powerful daily impact reducing development time, better optimizing products, and streamlining data driven processes, confirms DEP’s important role.

Following this in the afternoon was the panel discussion on the topic “CAE leads the way during product development- Are we there yet?” with experienced industry recognized panelists and presenters. They kept everyone’s attention with their topics that generated lively question and answer sessions.

The unveiling of MeshWorks 8.0 created quite a buzz, and the excitement and interest generated is a testament to the growth and adoption of DEP MeshWorks as an industry standard CAE software platform, now used throughout the product development process. Speaking on the occasion, Radha Krishnan, President, DEP said, “We developed MeshWorks8.0 to provide the CAE engineers with a tool for more faster, smarter and lighter solutions with great accuracy on their everyday designs and development. Also, DEP will continue to work hard to ensure MeshWorks remains the industry advanced CAE standard for: Lightweighting, Optimization, Morphing, Automated Meshing, Fast Modeling, and Process Automation.”

DEP Engineers showcased technical papers from several customers, outlining the latest in CAE strategy, methodology, techniques and applications. And to wrap the day and unwind, with some fun there was a lucky draw conducted and for the winner a new IPad was gifted. The event really provided a great networking opportunity with industry leaders, colleagues and partners.

Following this was the panel discussion on the topic “CAE leads the way during product development- Are we there yet?” with experienced industry speakers like Dr. Simon Xu, Engg. Group Manager, General Motors Corp, Jerry Chung, Manager, American Axle, Shashi Maire, Supervisor, Ford Motor Company, Gagan Tandon, Director, Product Development, ArcelorMittal and David Anderson, Senior Director, Automotive Technical Programs, SMDI. These industry recognized panelists and presenters kept everyone’s attention with their topics that generated lively question and answer sessions.

The unveiling of MeshWorks 8.0 created quite a buzz, and the excitement and interest generated is a testament to the growth and adoption of DEP MeshWorks as an industry standard CAE software platform, now used throughout the product development process.
